The Loveridge Road Project will widen highway 4 to 8 lanes, including three mixed flow lanes and 1 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction from just west of Loveridge Road to just west of Somersville Road. The project includes the reconstruction of the Loveridge Road interchange, freeway auxiliary lanes, and a median wide enough to accommodate mass transit.

Contractor: O. C. Jones and Sons, Inc. 
 
Construction began in June 2010. Estimated date of completion is late 2013.
